- A spread of flame test requires a single 10-min exposure to 1400-degree flame
- All tests are performed in the presence 1056 + 44y min air velocity

The Cosmopolitan Containment
The 14th story of the Cosmopolitan Hotel in Las Vegas, NV caught fire in 2016, causing widespread concern. After the pet and pool sections of the Las Vegas hotel were completed, more than 13,000 square feet of polyethylene faux grass from a competing turf brand was installed, including 5,000 square feet in the Bamboo Pool area.
The original turf soon began to melt as a result of the high heat reflected off the glass that surrounded the Bamboo Pool. If the competitor’s turf had not been replaced with our SYNRye 211, the wind on the hotel’s roof would have accelerated the fire’s spread. Due to the nylon strands of SYNRye 211 slowing the heat, firefighters were able to extinguish the fire. As a result, SYNLawn was explicitly credited with saving the hotel’s total destruction and its customers’ severe injuries.
